Release Notes
Since he was a pre-teen, Juno Award winner and Grammy nominated Colin Linden has been
a fan and a practitioner of the country blues. He finally felt ready to make a CD of the music that
he’s loved all his life. “I’ve been waiting for over 30 years to make this album,” states Linden. “I
wanted to be old enough to be able to make a CD that was genuine, not me trying to copy the
greats. I play this type of music every day, it informs everything I do.” And indeed, Colin has
done a lot as a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer. He has played on over 150 albums,
produced more than 30 CDs and has worked with artists such as Bruce Cockburn, Colin
James, Leon Redbone, T-Bone Burnett, and The Band. He is also a founding member of the
award winning and critically acclaimed Blackie and the Rodeo Kings.
From the Delta infused title track to joyous “You Can’t Get That Stuff No More” and the mournful “Champ” the listener is transported to the Deep South. Other standout tracks include “Broke
Down Engine”, “Tears Come Rolling Down” and “Nowhere to Go”
Easin’ Back to Tennessee is a must have for any blues fan. It is instantly accessible and finds
Linden at the peak of his playing.
