Keep It Clean
(
listen)
I’ve played it since I was 14. It was
the first hard to play finger-picking
piece I ever learned. It was written by
Charlie Jordan in the '30s, but this
arrangement and version owes a huge
amount to Larry Johnson. He was a
student of Rev Gary Davis and would
often play here in Toronto in the early‘70s. I saw him at a coffee house in
stage and- we all hung out all weekend.
I learned that song from Larry but
Ken helped me remember it.
