Raging River
Listen to an Easy Rider sound clip (trad)
Time goes by like a raging river
Days rush on around the bend
and if you jump in to try to save them
You will never come back again
One night I walked by the raging river
I heard a voice but I saw no one
and she cried 'Glory,
Glory Hallelujah
I will carry your burden home'
Raging rivereven fire can't burn you down
Raging river cries 'Don't sleep so sound'
Stood on the edge of a raging river
Saw your reflection staring back at me
I reached out to try to touch you
Raging river rolled out to sea
WORDS AND MUSIC BY COLIN LINDEN & COLIN JAMES SOCAN-1997
| Artist's Note |
Colin James and I wrote Raging River after a long day of trying to write a rock song. This one came hurling out and overtook us. It's hard to take credit for those kind. When we recorded this, the vibe was so strong in the room that nobody could get off the last chord, so I kept on playing and it just felt right to start singing Easy Rider, a song I had never sung before. |
